The Board
of Governors runs the California
State Bar, which oversees over 240,000 attorneys in California. Elected for a three-year term in November of 2002, managing partner James Heiting represented District Six (San Bernardino, Riverside San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura Counties), before being elected President of the State Bar of California.

Mr. Heiting was elected to head the State Bar as its president for the year 2005-2006. He remains involved in statewide and local concerns focused on the courts and access to justice, as well as other legal issues.
